Deloitte Interview Process for a Consultant role (India-focused, but largely global)—based on how Deloitte typically hires for Consulting / Risk / Tech / Strategy tracks.


1️⃣ Application & Resume Shortlisting

  • Online application via Deloitte Careers / LinkedIn / Referral

  • Resume is screened for:

    • Relevant domain experience (tech, analytics, consulting, finance, etc.)

    • Problem-solving exposure

    • Brand signals (C-DAC, competitions, strong projects — this helps 👀)

👉 Tip: Deloitte prefers impact-driven resumes (metrics, outcomes, leadership).


2️⃣ Online Assessment (OA) / Aptitude Test (sometimes skipped for experienced roles)

Duration: ~60–90 mins
Sections may include:

  • Project deep dive (very important)

  • Scenario-based questions

    “How would you design X for a client?”

🔹 For Business / Strategy / Risk Consultant

  • Case-based questions

  • Process improvement scenarios

  • Risk assessment / compliance understanding

  • Excel / PowerPoint thinking

👉 Key expectation:

“Can you solve client problems, not just code?”


4️⃣ Case Study / Managerial Interview (Round 2)

This is the most important round

You may get:

  • Live case discussion

  • Take-home case + presentation

  • Whiteboard problem solving

They evaluate:

  • Structured thinking (MECE)

  • Communication clarity

  • Client-facing maturity

  • Decision-making under ambiguity

Example:

“A client’s system is failing—what’s your approach in 30/60/90 days?”


5️⃣ Partner / Director Round (Final)

Less technical, more strategic

Focus areas:

  • Cultural fit

  • Leadership mindset

  • Ethics & professionalism

  • Why Deloitte?

  • Long-term vision

Typical questions:

  • “Tell me about a failure”

  • “How do you handle client conflict?”

  • “Why consulting, not pure tech?”

👉 This round decides hire vs no-hire


6️⃣ HR / Compensation Discussion

  • Role & level confirmation (Consultant / Senior Consultant)

  • CTC discussion

  • Location & joining timeline

  • Background verification process
